About the Pig & Plough Restaurant & Farmstall

The Pig & Plough opened its doors to the puplic for the first time in February of 2011.
The Pig & Plough is a beautiful family orientated restaurant & farmstall located in the small town called Winterton, in the Central Drakensberg.

One of our main focusses are children. We have a fenced in play area, an animal petting farm, as well as a dam with ducks to feed which the children love.
The Pig & Plough is a safe haven for parents to relax, peruse the deli or to have a light meal and coffee while the children are at play.

Our menu is filled with delicious breakfasts, lunches, light meals and beverages.
Freshly baked goods are available daily and we have our very own pizza oven on site.

One of the main drawcards is having our own locally grown range of delicious pork products from Ambleside Meats.

We boast a wide variety of goods in our farm shop, ranging from frozen homemade meals, pork products, artisanal jams and delicacies to local South African wines and olive oils- all perfect for a gift, souvenir or to enjoy at home.

We are open six days a week, closed on Tuesdays.
We love catering our locals daily as well as tourist visiting our beautiful area.

Meet Tracy Luffingham,
owner of The Pig & Plough

She moved from Barnsley South Yorkshire to South Africa in 1996 where she married Lance Luffingham in 1998.

They decided to build the Pig and Plough in 1998 and it took several years to get planning permission. The Pig and Plough opened in 2011, as it was a great addition to selling their pork products and added a restaurant and pizza oven, the first one in the area.

They also opened a self catering cottage on the farm at the same time.

She has been married to Lance for 25 years this coming September and have 4 boys.

Tracy is a passionate woman and is very dedicated to serving her clients great food.

Come pop by the Pig & Plough to experience the space she has created.
