The Pig & Plough

We are a restaurant & farmstall located in the Central Drakensberg, Winterton, KZN.

We love catering to our locals daily, as well as to visiting tourists of our beautiful area.

About Us

The Pig & Plough opened its doors to the puplic for the first time in February of 2011.

We’re a beautiful family orientated restaurant & farmstall located in the small town of Winterton, in the Central Drakensberg.

One of our main focusses are children. We have a fenced in play area, an animal petting farm, as well as a dam with ducks to feed which the children love.
The Pig & Plough is a safe haven for parents to relax, peruse the deli or to have a light meal and coffee while the children are at play.

Our menu is filled with delicious breakfasts, lunches, light meals and beverages.
Freshly baked goods are available daily and we have our very own pizza oven on site.

One of the main drawcards is having our own locally grown range of delicious pork products from Ambleside Meats. We also grow our own vegetables on site.

We boast a wide variety of goods in our farm shop, ranging from frozen homemade meals, pork products, artisanal jams and delicacies to local South African wines and olive oils- all perfect for a gift, souvenir or to enjoy at home.
